- Description
- Abstracto was written when the composer was 15 years of age. It features three Bb Clarinets in two movements: The first, with contrasting lyrical and emphatic sections, and the second, a sprightly march reminiscent of military music. The piece features a combination of tonalism and “off-note” writing. The score and parts are handwritten.
The music was performed at the MENC national convention in 1992, after being selected through a jury.
